Advocacy and Training Alliance, LLC

Attendees will receive advanced training (didactic and experiential) specific to youth with sexual problematic and/or harmful behaviors, victims of sexual abuse, and their families in a number of areas. Virtual training consists of presentations led by various trainers, break-out sessions, and group discussion, so please be prepared to interact and to keep your cameras on for the majority of the training. 

Field Instruction will begin once the 6 days of training have concluded. Field instruction consists of a maximum 6 months with at least 3 sessions (virtual or in-person meetings) with a field instructor to review materials addressed throughout the training and assess the application of skills. Field instruction expectations will be discussed throughout the training. Upon completion of the training and field instruction, attendees are awarded the Credentialed Sexually Abusive Youth Clinician (CSAYC). 20 hours of applicable continuing education is required every 2 years to maintain Level 1 - CSAYC credentials.

Learning Objectives, Participants will be able to:

1). Summarize the foundations for best practice treatment components for children and youth who have experienced a form of sexual abuse.
2). Demonstrate basic skills of Motivational Interviewing.
3). Summarize the components of a quality risk assessment.
4). Recognize the varying stages of sexual development after a sexual abuse experience.
5). Identify skills for best practice within family therapy.
6). Recognize and utilize best practice treatment components to address the sexual behavior experience.
7). Differentiate between best practice treatment for victim, problematic, and/or harmful sexual behavior. 

CE Hours:
A total of 40 CE hours will be offered.

Prerequisites for training (Failure to complete the prerequisites will result in not being allowed to attend the training):
1). Program is for practioners who have worked at least one year with youth, have a Master's degree or higher, and are interested in working with youth who have engaged in sexually harmful behaviors and/or the victims.
2). TF-CBT online training certificate or an EMDR 50 hour certificate must be submitted at least 7 days before the first day of training. TF-CBT online training can be found at http://tfcbt2.musc.edu/ Certificates must be submitted to training@advocacyandtraining.org for record keeping. The TF-CBT and EMDR 50 hour fees are not included in this registration fee. 
3). Complenation of pre-readings and pre-assessment questions must be completed one week prior to the first day of training. Access to information will be emailed post registration.

Presenters:
Amanda Pryor, MSW, LCSW, CSAYC
Amanda is the Director of Advocacy and Training Alliance, LLC since 2016. Amanda has over ten years of experience working in residential treatment facility, first as a licensed social worker for youth who have engaged in sexually harmful behaviors and then as director of clinical services where she supervised staff and developed and implemented programs and policies. She currently serves on the board of the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA) as a Juvenile Representative and member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Amanda has presented at dozens of trainings and conferences nationally and statewide. 

Megan Bullock, MS, LMHC, CSAYC
Megan is the Manager of Advocacy and Training Alliance, LLC since 2021. Megan has worked in the field of mental health since 2010 providing therapy and assessment services for youth and families in community-based, residential, and group home settings. Megan has held positions as a supervisor, assistant director and clinical director, providing supervisory services to clinical staff in both community-based and residential settings.

Training is 6 days- Sept 9-11 and Sept 25-27, 2024.  

Start at 8:30 am EST each day and end by 5 pm daily. We will break for lunch from 12-1 pm. Morning and afternoon breaks will be utilized as needed.
