About
Brett Boswinkle is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Indiana and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Michigan. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Prior to attaining his master’s degree, Brett graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University with a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice and Criminology. Brett began working in social services in 2005 and worked for many years in community-based outpatient mental health settings, including roles and a clinical program supervisor and director of clinical services. Brett’s areas of clinical specialization are in trauma disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, and specific phobias, as well as issues of sexuality. Brett is trained in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), Trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT), and is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Brett also has extensive training in Motivation Interviewing to help clients achieve their behavioral change goals and is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). In his personal time Brett enjoys riding motorcycles, spending time with friends and loved ones, and going on travel adventures.
